Key Objectives

SP Genevac, world leaders in solvent evaporation technology, came to DesignEdge when it wanted an advanced aesthetic with a real ‘wow factor’ for its latest Rocket™ Evaporator, a high speed evaporator used in pharmaceutical laboratories around the world.

Result

A spiral themed instrument was modelled in 3D CAD with graphical interface and distinctive display icons. The radical styling of the Rocket™ incorporates leading edge technology and PU RIM processes.

Bowl Rotor

Strobe viewing window

Strobe controls enable monitoring of the progress of evaporation without stopping to open the lid; each flask may be viewed separately in real time.

Illuminated Condenser

Auto-draining frost-free solvent condenser collects all solvents as liquids. Plastic coated glass for safety and visibility.

Space Saving Design

Rocket Evaporators use patented vacuum technology to evaporate solutions to dryness or a concentrate. Five times faster than other ‘intelligent’ evaporators it is capable of replacing several rotary evaporators saving valuable bench space.

Easy Use Controls

Select the method for the solvents to be evaporated, set the maximum safe temperature and start. USB upload of new methods software and download of recorded data.

6 Flask capacity

Designed to dry or concentrate up to six flasks each containing a maximum of 450ml of solvent or 18 ASE® vials with no user intervention or attention.

Puck

Enables up to 18 ASE® vials to be dried in one operation in place of flasks.
