The EndoCuff, a disposable overtube that slips onto the end of conventional colonoscopes to improve mucosal vision and enhance tip control, has been awarded the coveted Red Dot. The Red Dot Design Awards 2012 is judged by a team of 30 international judges and attracted more than 4515 entries in 19 categories.
EndoCuff was awarded an ‘honourable mention’ for an outstandingly designed detail solution. Says Bruce Hutchison from DesignEdge: “We‘re delighted that the design has been recognised for its particularly well-executed aspects of design work by Red Dot and also that it will go on to play its part in improving cancer detection.” Established in 1955, designers can apply for the prizes with winners being presented in an annual ceremony, products are exhibited in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen.
